smart host selection question
I have to install exchange as a mail server for about 200 users in our company. I am planning to go for a single exchange 2007 server having CAS, HT and Mailbox roles. Can any one suggest a smart host which is not that expensive? . Thanks

You want us to suggest an SMTP relay service for you without knowing where on the planet you are? My first port of call would be your ISP. If you are a legitimate business (and 200 users lends that impression) you should probably be having a fixed IP from your provider so you won't need to relay. If the ISP doesn't give you a fixed IP the second best is to use their relays. They all have them and they will all let you use them. It's usually free but you might need to pay some small monthly sum. I would strongly suggest you went no further. A relay service - and there are many of them out there - isn't really designed to be used by businesses with a couple of hundred people. Still, if you have to use a commercial service unrelated to your ISP or another provider close by you could do worse than tell the group where you are so that someone can give you a relatively local suggestion. Thanks for your comment .I meant a smart host like Barracuda as i am not going for edge transport server. We will be having a static IP.

Both Barracuda and Ironport are nice appliances if that's what you want Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog
