Typically these occur if some exch attributes are corrupt or have inconsistent values or doesn't have rights to read. 1.What version of Exchange? 2. Can you verify that, that account has inheritance checked in AD 3.Did you just move the mailbox? 4. If not, can you try to move the mailbox? 5. You can also try to restart the IS store (would take everyone down) or disconnect and reconnect the mailbox. 6. If using 2010 you can try to set-mailbox -database.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

1. 2007 sp1 2. user account has inheritance checked 3. mailbox was not moved, we did just recently complete an offline defrag of database. 4 I was able to successfully move the mailbox, should this have an effect on OWA?

Hmm, looking into the stack details more closely it seems more of a corrupted mailbox. Did the move mailbox make any difference? You may have to resort to exporting the mailbox contents and importing into a newly created mailbox.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

After moving the mailbox, the user was able to successfully access their email through OWA. I am still unclear as to what caused the problem?!

Not sure what the root cause was, it appears the MB got corrupted. When you move a mailbox it essentially creates a new mailbox.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Hi, This problem could be caused by the corrupted mailbox table/data. After moving the mailbox to another database, the data tables of this mailbox will be recreate .Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. Thanks Gen Lin-MSFT
