set-owavirtualdirectory command fail
Hi, We have problem with MSExchange 2010 OWA. When we try to open up OWA, it gives error message "Outlook Web App didn't initialize......". I check Event Viewer, and there is some error with OWA configuration. So I do some research, and find out that I have to configure using Exchange management shell. When I type the command "set-owavirtualdirectory -identity "server1\owa (default web site)" -formsauthentication $true", it gives me error message "the operation couldn't be performed because object 'server1\owa (default web site)' couldn't be found on 'dc-server.mycompany.com' + categoryinfo : notspecified:(0:int32) [set-owavirtualdirectory], managementobjectnotfoundexception + fullyqualifiederrorid : c8084e,microsoft.exchange.management.systemconfigurationtask.setowavirtualdirectory" I tried changing default domain controller using set-adserversetting to another domain controller, but the same error message keeps popping as the result. Please advise, thanks a lot. Arief

Hi Arief, May I know what error did you get when you logon to OWA? Is it “Outlook Web App didn't initialize......"? Please paste the exact error in your next post. Could you please let me know the detailed information about Event log? Such as Event ID and source, etc. I look forward to hearing from your update. Hi Serena, Sorry for very late reply, because I've been trying to configure it using EMC, not cmdlet anymore. This is the site from which I follow the configuration. http://exchangeserverpro.com/exchange-server-2010-outlook-web-app-authentication-settings Funny thing is, several times the configuration (forms-based authentication) goes back to Windows authentication. I don't know why. Now it's working, and I hope it will be stable.
