sending a word or pdf document as an attachment using 'send as' ...

Using outlook 2010 with POP3 account (not exchange).  every time i right click on a document or PDF and i select 'send as', it gives this error message.  outlook 2010 is up to date, using Win 7 pro.  i'm unable to select the address i need from Outlook address book and it won't even give me any suggested names.  i have to save the email as draft, then open my address book, find the email, copy/past it to my draft email, then i'm able to send.  This was not an issue with Outlook 2007 or 2003.

the exact error message is: The operation failed because of network or other communication problems.  verify your connection and try again.  i'm Cisco certified, i can 100% assure you the connection is good and my IP address does resolve to a dns server.  i can surf the internet without any issue, no 3rd party firewall or anti-virus (using MS Security Essential).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Please try the following method and check if it helps:

1. Close all Office programs.

2. Press Windows key + R to open the Run command.

3. Type Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll and press Enter.

Please let me know if this works.
