send connector - changes
hi all, in exchange 2003 i need to tell exchange to use DNS to route mail only for one domain. All other domains shuld continue to leave via the trend smart host that is in place now. How can i do this? I cant seem to find the correct place. Exchange 2003 confuses me (compared to exchange 2007 and 2010) thanks

Just create an additional send connector for this particular domain. Right now you probably have one send connector of * (meaning all domains) however if you create an additional send connector of hotmail.com using DNS to route than any emails going out to hotmail will use this send connector since the more specific domain matches.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Exchange 2003 confuses me (compared to exchange 2007 and 2010) Create a SMTP Connector. Use the ESM and navigate to the appropriate location. Assuming you already have one SMTP Connector (you shold) you'll find it here (substituting whatever names are appropritae for your organization): First Administrative Group -> Routing Groups -> First Routing Group -> Connectors --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
