secondary mx records
I have a SBS2003 Standard server with SP2. My ISP is hosting my domain and mx records are pointing to the ISP. E.g. mail.mycompany.com.au is pointing to my ISP. I had to ask my ISP to create another mx records called mail2.mycompany.com.au and pointed to my SBS2003 permanent IP address. The reason for doing this was exchage 2003 was givingme the following error: "The connection was dropped due to an SMTP protocol event sink." But I don't know how to set this up on my SBS2003 so that I don't receive the above error. Thanks in advance for your assistant.

Hi Serioja, this is not a problem with your mx-record. The error you get looks like an outgoing SMTP problem. Could you try to reinstall your SMTP services? Greetings, Peter

Hi, Before going on, I would like to confirm the following information: When did this issue first occur? Did you install any third party security software for Exchange was installed on the computer? In order to better understand this issue, please go into Event log and find the exact error message that you received. Please try to use telnet command to send the email in order to check the configuration of the SMTP VS is correctly. If the issue persists, please reinstall SMTP service by using smtpreinstall.exe tool For more information, please refer to the link as below: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822939 Thanks Allen
