Are you really trying to create a completely new Active Directory account or do you just want to give the original person the abc email address? If it's the former you'll need to make sure the person doesn't have the abc.com address before creating it and if it's the latter all you need do is to apply the abc address to the AD account. Hi, Are the domains adnan.net and abc.com sitting in the different forests? Are you in Cross-forest or Resource forest ? 1. Go to abc.com. create a new user, set the 'User logon name'(SamAccountName ) to arafique. 2. Go to the exchange server, open EMC. 3. When performing New mailbox, select "Existing users", select the 'arafique'. What's result?

Just mention some other SamAccountName property value in your command like AdnanR or etc. Regards,Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

it is just single forest and single AD environment. On this Exchange I'm trying to host multuiple domains for our companies. (4 domain names). There are some user/manager who wants to haev their email Id on each of the domain. Let say they want adnan@abc.com, adnan@123.com, adnan@example.com . I know i could add as many aliases I want but when youreply to someone it will be from your default email adress. so if they receive email at adnan@example.com then they should be able to reply with that id.

Hi, You can setup multiple mailboxes for a single name in exchange but you will have to provide unique values to -SamAccountName -UserPrincipalName -Alias -Email Addresses So in your first post you were just having the error bcoz the SamAccountName which you were using was already being used. So if you mention unique values for the above mentioned properties then you wont have any problem. Also if you put same -name for all mailboxes then dont forget to mention different Organizational Unit for each of the mailbox account. so what you are trying to say is that.. the AD account should be unique but it can have same alias or name before the @ sign. adnan khan - akhan@abc.com adnan john - akhan@intel.com correct?

These accounts can have same alias before the @ sign. This is very common scenario. Regards,Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com
