I have 2 Exchange 2010 Svr in 2 different domains, 1 in USA, 1 in China, all in the same Org.

I can email to a certain domain in USA, but can't in China.  In China, I can't do an nslookup for the MX record or even "telnet emailsvrmxip 25" to that certain domain.

Is there a way to have my China Exchange svr route a specific domain to my USA Exchange svr to deliver the email...?

Hi Tom - 

If I am reading this correctly, you want your servers in China to send mail for domainX.com to a server in the US for delivery.  

I assume you have default send connectors in place for SMTP domains of * on the servers in China?  If that's the case, this should be a simple case of adding a domain specific send connector on a server in the US, and ensuring that no servers in China have a lower priority for the domain name in question.  i.e. - add a send connector for Domainx.com with a cost of 1 to a server running the hub transport role in the US.  When the transport tier in Exchange 2010 determines the delivery path for the domain, it will follow the lowest total cost, sending the mail to the US based server for delivery.

Clearly I am making assumptions on your environment.  If I am missing something in your configuration that would prevent this solution please let me know.

Yes, you did make the correct assumptions.

In the Org Config-Hub Transport, I created an Internet Send connector for that domain.

USA has a cost of 1, China has a cost of 2, and now that domain has a cost of 1.

In 2 hours after AD replication, I will test it and update you.

HI, I made the Send Connector on the USA server.  When I go to the China server, I see the entry.  When I email to the domain, I see no change in the Queue viewer.

Do I have to restart a service on the China email server...?

Hi Tom -

No restarts should be needed.  Two quick questions.  First, did you choose the option for a scoped send connector? That option would lock the connector down to a specific AD site, so we do NOT want that selected.  Second question - on the source servers tab, do you have only US servers present, or did you put a china server here as well?  To force the desired behavior we only want a US server present on the source servers tab.

By your state, we could create a new send connector using smart host to achieve it:

1.        Create a send connector
2.        Type this specific domain
3.        Type Exchange server in USA as smart host
4.        Make sure cost value is high

I used a lower cost and it didn't work.  Should I have used a higher one...?

I instead used a smart host to deliver the domain to my spam solution provider and it appears to work.
