restoring exchange 2007 after windows server 2008 re-install
Here goes...windows crashed and i had to do new installation. i still have exchange directories i.e. log file, db. So is bes to try to reassociate exchange with existing db (or is even possible) or is best restore from backup. My preference would be to reinstall exchange and use db that is already there. thoughts? thx jaysen

Hi,Did it also was the domain controller if not use the setup.com /m:recoverserver this will look in the AD which roles the server had previously and reinstalls the roles. Then create the databases with the same name as they had previously and follow the procedure in the following Technet article to recover the db's:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998340.aspxRegards,Johanblog: www.johanveldhuis.nl
