remove transaction logs 2007
Running windows 2008 sp2 standard with exchange 2007 sp2. How can i remove the transaction logs easily and know which ones i can remove safely? Since i'm running continuous local copies, do i need to perform this in both directories? Is there an tool to make this simple - currently have 31,000 transaction log files. Thanks in advance.

Manually removing log s files are never a good idea. The best way to do is have incremental back up daily, which will purge the log files on daily basis. The last option is to delete them manually. In that case you need to be sure for the log files which are commited to the database. I think the better idea will be run eseutil /mh , check the last committed file and then can remove the log files which are commited. One more way can be dismount the stores (which will commit all the log files to the databse), then you can create new log file directory and get rid of the old files.Raj

Any back up utility that you must be using can do the incremental back up. You can try eseutil/mh and then can see which log file has been committted at last. And remaining you can delete.Raj
