relay not allowing send email externally

Hello,

You can create a receive connector as I explained here in my blog: http://exchangeonline.in/smtp-server-error-5-7-1-unable-relay/

This has been created for Exchange 2010 and can create the same for 2013 too

Your post is for a non-Exchange server trying to send mail through an Exchange Server.

Tried your solution, as is, but it doesn't work.

I only have an exchange server. I just want to use Outlook to send mail through the exchange server.

Need help configuring the relay for internal users to send external email.
Exchange 2010x64 server - up to date as is W2008R2.

Email sent externally bounces back with

#550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired ##

Telnet test told me,

550 5.7.1 Unable to relay

PWS3v2

Internal email works and can receive external (outside domain) email, but cannot send email out from the domain.

Need help configuring Exchange 2010 relay for internal users to send mail externally.

Single internal Exchange 2010 server. Not using edge transport. Just using Outlook 2010 internally. No external devices or servers.

Hello,

In this case, you just need a normal send connector. If this is not able to send out email, it can be related to DNS or the ISP is not allowing to send using the port assigned. Check, if the DNS is correctly configured internally. Otherwise, check with the ISP, if they wanted to specifically send through some ports

Hi,

You might be misunderstanding Exchange relay domain, it's used for no-internet face domain deliver message Exchange server, we need add this domain as relay domain. More details about relay domain, please refer to: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124423.aspx#BKMK_RelayDomains

For your question, we need create a send connector to send message to internet as above mentioned. Moreover, if you want receive message from internet, we need register DNS MX and relevant record in public DNS server(i.e. ISP).

Thanks
