really really really annoying update

last week I was asked to update MS Word on office, which I stupidly did, now every doc opens in that ugly format when I prefer to use Word 2010 and to top it off it's disabled my printer and I can't print from either because it tells me "printer is offline". What do I do to fix/get rid of these features? #ihateeverythingMicrosoft #hostage

Hi zusing,

You said >> every doc opens in that ugly format when I prefer to use Word 2010 <<, Im confused by this sentence. Based on your description, my understanding is you upgrade to Office 2013. I suppose you find the User Interface changed in Office 2013, and youre not used to work with this new version of Office. The upgrade of a product is always based on feedback of users, and as a general rule the new version will improve function and appearance. If you really feel that work with the new version of Office is annoying, you can give Microsoft a detailed feedback. Or you can tell me your troubles, Im glad to help you and troubles.

In addition, with this error message printer is offline, Offline indicates that the computer has lost direct communication with the printer. Now please try these steps and check if it helps.

  1. Click Start, go to Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound.
  2. Click Printer.
  3. If the Printer is offline, it shows Offline status. If the Printer is online it shows Ready.
  4. If the Printer is offline, set it to online.
  5. Right-click on the printer and select Use Printer Online.
  6. The display should change to ready when the printer is set to online.

Please try this method and let me know if it works, Im glad to help and follow up your reply.
