quantity of information stores allowed with 2008 SBS
We are currently using Windows 2000 SBS and are in the process of planning to upgrade to a newer server. I'm trying to determine which version will be the best fit for us. For quantity of mailboxes and most everything else the SBS version will be fine. I know that with 2000 SBS I can only have one database and it's size is limited.I know that the literature for 2008 SBS uses Exchange 2007 and theExchange 2007 Standard literature states that it can have up to 5 databases with maximum sizeup to 16TB. Is that true when used as part of 2008 SBS or are you still limited to one database and/or smaller size limits under SBS? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hello, Limitation applies based on Exchange 2007 Standard Edition so you will have 5 storage group & 5 databases with maximum 16TB of DB but it is suggested to dont increase the sizeabove 100GB per database for various reasons like quicker disaster recovery, splitting the chances of user downtime incase DBs went down and repairing is must. Create multiple database andsplit your users across them. References: Exchange Server 2007 Editions and Client Access Licenses http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/editions.mspx

Thanks for the quick answer. I know that in Exchange 2000 SBS I ran into some limitations that the Standard Exchange did not have. Thanks again.
