preparead fails - Failed to contact domain controller
Hi, I'm installing a new Exchange organisation within our network. We're deploying a new child domain to hold all the Exchange servers and groups. I'm running "setup \preparead \organizationname:orgname" on a DC in the root domain logged into an account thats an Administrator in both domains, Schema admin and Enterprise admin. I get through the pre-req's and up to about 50% and then get an error code 3238218282 which states that a it "failed to contact windows domain controller". DNS resolution is good and I'm in an administrator command prompt. I've previously completed the task in our test environment accross the two domain without a problem. Please help as the error code seems to give little help after a qgoogle or two Thanks Soops

You don't have to give any organizationname if Exchange is not yet installed (Hope this is the only Exchange Organization you are preparing in your network because only one Ex Org can be installed into an AD forest). So can you run prepareAD withouth organizationname parameter? Hi Amit, Thanks for your assistance. I've retried without including the organizationname parameter and unfortunatly I'm getting the same result. Any other ideas? Soops

Some more information, its looking like being an IPv6 related issue even though we aren't using it and the tick box has been de-selected on the NIC.
