postinstallation tasks for Exchange 2010 SP1
I have installed Exchange 2010 SP1 without having ever installed Exchange 2010. The Technet pages for "Finalize Deployment Tasks" for 2010 and SP1 are different. For example, the SP1 version does not include the steps of registering filter pack ifilters and upgrading custom LDAP filters to OPATH filters. Do I need to use both checklists or just SP1?

the Exchange SP1 installation is a full installation. You don't need your old RTM media. Just follow the Exchange SP1 Installation guides, not the upgrade guides. When you install your Exchange 2010 SP1, you can check, if your setup should do the Server preparing work for you. When you went trough the setup, with no failure, or errors you did right. ? Custom LDAP Filters to OPATH filters is only needed, when you do an upgrade from 2003... as far as I know... We don't talk about an upgrade, right? Thanks and regards! Don't forget to mark or vote :)

The other servers in the Exchange org are Exchange 2003. But anyway, the ifilters thing apparently has nothing to do with 2003. These are the web pages in question: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125262%28EXCHG.140%29.aspx?t=exchgf1 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125262.aspx

Never mind. I just realized that the tasks are there, they're just in a different document.
