please help - Exchange 2003 after 2007 uninstall
Hello All- I am afraid I have bulioxed up everything and don't know where to go next. I had Exchange 2007 running on two servers and after struggling with them I decided to just go ahead and nuke the servers altogether. I reinstalled Exchange 2003 on a fresh Windows 2003 install. I found the old Administrative groups still there from the 2007 install so I used adsiedit.msc and removed them manually. Now the problem I'm having is that mailboxes aren't getting created on user accounts and I don't know why. I'm not getting any error messages at all and when I right click on the User and choose Exchange Tasks and Add Mailbox it adds and doesn't generate an error. But then if I go into Exchange System Manager -> Mailbox Store -> Mailboxes, it's not there! I am so lost here. Any help would be most appreciated. I want to avoid completely rebuilding AD for this domain. Thanks, locoytravieso

A new mailbox does not appear in the Exchange System Manager until after it has been logged into at least once. Create a test user with a mailbox, then open OWA (http://localhost/exchange/test user's alias) and log in as the test user. Now refresh the Exchange System Manager - the test user's mailbox should appear. I hope that's it, but if not, repost and we'll approach this from another angle.
