owa ridirection
Hi All, We are currently in the process of installing an archiving functionality within our environment but or having difficulties with the following and need your assistance. The archiving functionality requires access from the CAS server to communicate with the mailbox server in order to check for the hidden messages on the mailbox server in order for it to enable the archiving functionality within OWA. The issues we are facing is as follows. When we log into the CAS server and we enter the local host URL https://localhost/exchange it prompts you for the user name and password it is not able to login it continuously prompts for the user name and password. We then log onto the mailbox server and enter the localhost URL http://localhost/exchange it prompts for a username and password three times then generates a "401.3 Unauthorized: Access is denied due to an ACL set on the requested resource". The expected behavior should be that when accessing the localhost URL http://localhost/exchange on the Mailbox server it should prompt you for a password then redirect you to the CAS server where you would be able to access OWA which is not happening both on the CAS server and the Mailbox server. We have a duplicate setup of our production environment in a Lab environment and its working. We have checked all the IIS settings on each virtual directory and compared it to our Lab environment and all the authentication levels are the same. We have also do numerous checks on the 401.3 errors we receiving and still the following doesn’t work. Your help would be greatly appreciated in resolving the following issue.

Hi If it works in lab, you should check all the different setting of your situation. If all the setting are same, you should check network, firewall and other relevant hardware. As Ed mentioned, please provide the general information about the organization Quote: “We then log onto the mailbox server and enter the localhost URL” I assume that the mailbox server also hosts the CAS server role, right? Since /Exchange virtual directory won’t exist on standalone mailbox server I think you have checked the redirect setting of /Exchange virtual directory on CAS server, and “/owa” is in the “Redirect requests to this description”, right? Please also make sure that other checkboxes haven’t been selected in the setting When “continuously prompts for the user name and password” issue appears, what’s the related traces in the IIS log on the CAS server?
