outlook with ost file not updating properly
Hi, Got a situation and i have no clue on what to do or try next . ok here'sthe issue: Exchange 2007 server, about 200 mailboxes all working fine 'cept 1 (and it's the managers mailbox so .. ) one mailbox, using ost file (for working at home on the laptop) and the users mailbox won't fetch mail. His secretary (full access perms) can see all his mail and use his mailbox. I gave myself full access perms on his mailbox and i see al mail, including new mail, also using ost file. Now he still can't. have reconfigured outlook, .. no result. strange is, that he also has about 50 mails in his outbox on his laptop and they don't show up when i open his mailbox or when his secretary does (mails in the outbox have been send so they shouldn't be in the outbox anymore). Sometime ago i checked, he had 2 ost files in the same location (backup?). When i removed them, his mail functioned fine for about a day before trouble started again. Anyone any ideas on why outlook won't fetch new mails in this configuration? Thanks in advance ..

Hi, First please try to remove the ost file and specify a new location of the new ost file. Please navigate to Tools-Options-Mail Setup-Data files, from that try to add a ost file and then set as default.(Note: You may remove the original ost file and delete it.) If the new synchronized ost file does not work anymore, then please use OST Integrity Check tool to scan and find the error when it sync with Exchange Server. About the OST Integrity Check tool http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP030896241033.aspx Use the OST Integrity Check tool http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP010210631033.aspx Besides, please ensure that the anti-virus application has exclude the location where ost file stores. More information share with you: You cannot specify a separate folder to store the .ost file when you use the ForcePSTPath value in Outlook 2003. http://support.microsoft.com/?id=896591 Hope it helps.
