outlook web services push notifications...what if IT Dept. won't allow impersonation?
I am creating a web app that collects the calendar events scheduled for the curent day for about 80 users and presents them on a single web page. Every minute or so I would like to check to see if there have been any changes to the calendars of the users...for those that have changed, I would update the web page accordingly. my reading indicates that the cleanest way for me to do this is to set up Impersonation and then subscribe for changes to each user's calendar folder. Outlook web services would send a message to my web service client when a user's calendar has changed, and from their I would update the web page. ...the problem is that my IT department will not grant me the ability to use the impersonation feature...so I assume that I cannot use the push notifications? what would an alternative approach be? should I just use the "getuseravailability" functionality for each user and compare each retrieval vs. a stored record of what the current state is? thanks for your advice....Barry

Why would you like to push the calendars information? Why does the IT department forbid you to puch notifications? In an Exchange environment, the Calendar information will be updated automatically without manually updating. Just like the OOF feature: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/10/06/429115.aspx
