outlook not able to contact exchange server
I am tryng to setup Outlook to connect to the exchange server 2007 which is installed on windows server 2008 datacentre edition . Using Rpc over http. Get the following message "cannot open your default email folders.you must connect to microsoft exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your offline folder file."Tried the ntlm and basic authintication, but no use.Please Help

Hi, Is your outlook pc is a member of some Active Directory domain other than the one where Exchange is installed? You can also try outlook option "Always prompt for logon credentials"" For it just Go to "Control Panel -> Mail" and then Got to your profile which u r trying to connect to Exchange Server and select "Always prompt for logon credentials" . Hi, My setup is as follows.1.Domain controller is installed on windows server 2008 32 bit datacentre edition2.Exchange server 2007 is installed on windows server 2008 64 bit datacentre edition.DC:xyz.comMailserver:mail.xyz.comServer side configuration1 Installed the Windows RPC over HTTP Proxy component2.Enabled outlook anywhere in server configuration->client Access (external host name as mail.xyz.com)Client side configurationI m using vista as client ,it is member of xyz.com domain and using outlook 2007.1. Create a New profile2. check the manually configure box at the bottom 3.Select Microsoft Exchange 4.Input your mailbox server name (this could be FQDN or Netbios Name) 5. Click the “More settings” button 6. Select the connections tab 7. Check the box “Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP” -> Exchange Proxy Settings 8. Input the url of your Outlook Anywhere server, check the appropriate authentication 9.Enable only connect proxy servers that have principal in their certificate and type msstd:mail.xyz.com10.apply ok when i open microsoft office 2007.I got following error"There is a problem withthe proxy server's security certificate.The security certificate is not form a trusted certifying authority. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server mail.xyz.com(error code 18)."Then i exported default certificate from exchange server and installed in client machine.then i opened microsoft outlook 2007.I got following error"There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate.The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site mail.xyz.com.Outlook is unable to connect to proxy server(error code 10)."Tried both the ntlm and basic authintication, but no use.Please Help

Did some finnaly found a solution for this problem (error 18 and 10) when starting Outlook Anywhere 2007 thanks a lot
