I recommend that you post your question to the Outlook forum or the SBS forum. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/threads http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/smallbusinessserver/threads I would also reconsider whether you need or should even install Outlook on the server.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

I wouldn't back up mailboxes. Back up the Information Store. Mailbox backup is a time-consuming tape-wasting feature that you really shouldn't need.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi You can read this SBS case. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/smallbusinessserver/thread/41f4ddd4-a948-46a4-989a-c38a47411005/ You can read IbanezWiz's post. I will get blasted for this but I have Outlook 2010 installed on SBS 2011 with five different email accounts added to it. SBS 2011 support outlook 2010 which install on same server. It is outlook installation problem. You can post it to outlook forum. Crowley has posted link. no we dont - everyone keeps saying you shouldnt put outlook 2010 on sbs 2011 server. but we have no choice. No one has come up with an explanation. there is nothing in the logs to indicate why it fails - just the simple error message which has no reference number B Neil
