outlook 365

I recently upgraded from outlook 2007 to outlook 365. once i was set up i opened my old data file and dragged my folders over (12 years work of client emails) everything worked fine until i restarted my computer and now i keep getting this message when i open outlook.

"Your mailbox has been temporarily moved on Microsoft Exchange server. A temporary mailbox exists, but might not have all your previous data.

You can connect to the temporary mailbox or work offline with all of your old data. if you choose to work with your old data, you cannot send or receive e-mail message."

three options

1. Use Temporary Mailbox

2. Use Old Date

3. Cancel

1. gives me a temp mailbox with none of my folders

2. gives me an error saying "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Mircosoft Exchange has failed"

3. closes the program

I need my emails folders, i either need to to know how to recover them of how to get this to work, my business depend on it.

Hi,

After the upgrade, you may need to create a new Outlook Profile to setup the account:

Control Panel -> Search "Mail" and open it -> Show Profiles -> Add.

Note: If you have a .pst file which stores all your previous data, please keep a backup of it before doing any actions on it.

I did this, then dragged my folders from my old psd to the new one, now the folders are in the new location but i get this when i try to open outlook

3. Cancel

so i cant access my past emails and they are no longer in the psd file

i can find an .ost file that seems to be the right size but i have no way to open it

Hi,

But .ost files are usually a local cache of the mailbox, you should still have all the information on the server. If you lost the data on the server during any migration, you may need some 3rd-party tools to convert the .ost to .pst, which can be opened in Outlook.
