outlook 2007 clients prompting for password on opening of outlook and on sending new emails
Good Morning- First my environment: SBS 2008 server w/ Exchange 2007. Two other Domain controllers both also Active Directory DNS servers (both windows 2003 server standard edtitions), Outlook 2007 clients running on XP Professional, sp3 workstations Now the scenario: Yesterday I logged into one of the 2k3 Domain Controllers and the clock was behind by 1 hour. After verifying all the time zone settings were correct I manually corrected the time. About 3 hours later I began to have a wide variety of issues all related to DNS. After troubleshooting a while I turned off the 2k3 DC that I had adjusted time on and my DNS issues seemed to have gone away. So currently that server is turned off. However unlike prior to adjusting the clock and all the dns issues that followed, many of my users are getting prompted when opening their Outlook 2007 for domain credentials. Some users can get into Outlook w/out being prompted but when they go to send an email it then prompts them. Some of these clients are configured for Outlook Anywhere using Basic Authentication and some are desktops that are NOT configured for Outlook Anywhere at all. These prompts were not happening prior to the DC being shut down last night. If the user enters their credentials as domain/username and then correct password they can proceed, but it's an annoyance that shouldn't be necessary!

Hi, I suggest you run Exbpa to do a health check for the server. Is there any related log in event log? If so, please paste here. Please also run Get-ExchangeServer |fl and paste the result here. Thanks, Elvis

And here's the results of the get-Exchangeserver | fl: (I'm confused as to the continued references to "win2ksbs" server because that was our SBS 2003 server that we migrated from months ago. Hi, Please do a schema prepare and domain prepare according to the articles suggested by Exbpa. Then check the issue again. Is there any related event error in event log? Regards, Elvis
