I setup a signature with a simple HTML code not with outlook signature setting tool.

the code is just like <img src="">, and I leave the width and hight out of the <img> tag, so the image will be displayed as original size.

but I have a problem that outlook2007 can not display the image in signature correctly.

Sometims it display a broken image icon, and sometimes it display the image much smaller. and sometime it display correctly.

and it has nothing to do with whether the image is stored locally or a hyerlink to the server.

but the signature display in Outlook 2003/2010 well.

can anyone help me ?

For the displaying a broken image icon:

1. Check if the image can correctly displayed when you access to where you stored it.

2. Go to the Trust Center and check if you have checked Don't download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items.

In my opinion, the embedded image may not travel well.

To get a more consistent view of your logo, put the logo on a public server, and point to it with HTML tag in signature.

For the changing in size, this usually happens when you are using a picture other than 96dpi.

To work around this, you can re-render the image to 96dpi yourself while maintaining the dimensions of the picture. We could refer to the link to get more details.

This is for sure, if i open the .HTM directly in Outlook2007 signatures folder, all images display well, , but when  i compose a mail,  the signature won't display correctly, sometimes it shows the broken image icon, sometimes it shows the images much smaller, and sometimes it shows the images correctly. that is a quite strange thing, for the same setting, it get three different results. and this only happens on Outlook2007.

I don't think it is the reason, this only affects when you receive a mail that the images won't display.

I know that if using Outlook2007 to set up signature, it will cause images resolusion changed if rendering  the image other than 96dpi. But I set up the signature using simple HTM codes. Just copy it and images to Outlook2007 signature folder.  So Outlook will not rerender the images.

so the problem still exists on Outlook2007.
