out of office puzzle
Hi,
Windows 2003 SP2
company A and company B merge. The company B has exchange 2007. I just migrated several users from company B to company A and converted their user mailbox to linked mailbox.
Everything is fine but users can not use out of office assistance. Users have outlook 2007 and cache mode. But, they can access out of office assistance from OWA without any problem.
can not figure out why out of office assistance does not work in outlook but works fine in OWA? replication???
Can anyone help me out?
Thank you.
Thank you.

I wonder if the fact that you are using linked mailboxes could be causing the issue. Sounds similar to :

Hi,
This is because your Auodiscover services would not be properly configured. Generally if Autodiscover url's are not configured or the certificate which you are using for the Exchange doesn not have Autodiscover entry you will face this issue.
The url's which you configure should be resolved from internal and external DNS. To solve this try and configure your autodiscover services in Exchange 2007.
Below is the article for configuring Autodiscover in Exchange 2007/2010:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201695.aspx
Once Autodiscover is configured you can test autodiscovery as mentioned in the below article:

Hope this will help you in solving Out of office issue.
Thanks.

Hi,
I guess that's exactly what I experience. It only happens to outlook 2007 (not outlook 2003 and OWA)
I followed the link to fix it:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970123 and installed and have key there
But, I still get "Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later"
So, is this fixed or resolved?
Anyone from MS?
I need the solution desperately.
Thank you.

Hi Nagaraj,
If users in domain B are not migrated to domain A and users's mailboxes are not converted to linked mailbox. They have no problem if they stay in company B domain.
It only happens when they are linked mailboxes.
Do you still think if it's autodiscover service?
Thank you.
