officeclicktorun.exe eating up 1/4 of my CPU usage consistently
So I've been running into an issue with my computer stalling waiting for resources to free up to do things like type. My main cooling fans would go up to full speed for extended times and my CPU usage would be above 50% not doing much heavy lifting. I started watching my resource monitor and I've found over time the issue it officclicktorun.exe constantly is running close to 25% of my CPU usage.  Everything seems to be up to date so why would it be consistently that high? I could see if there were an update happening but this is all the time.

Did you subscribe to office 365 recently? the click to run lets office run while installation continues in the background, so if you just did a office 365 install it may be doin the background install still.

Hi,

Make sure Office is up to date, and if not, please wait until it is fully up to date, basically this process shouldn't take that much of CPU usage.

You can also try a repair of Office from the Control Panel -> Programs and Features, the issue may occur if part of the installation is corrupted, a repair worked for some users who met the same issue before.
