new-mailboximportrequest

Hello

running Exchange 2013 ru9. CAS and MBX are separate roles, running on dedicated servers. I am using the new-mailboximportrequest command to import many .pst files to users Archive mailboxes. I want to know if its possible to specify a MRS server for a batch of imports? I am trying to speed up the import process, by spreading the import across as many MRS servers as possible. Also when I run the Get-MailboxImportRequestStatistics command, its telling me that the MRSServerName is my mailbox server. I though the MRS server ran on the CAS server ?

Hi,

The Mailbox Replication Service Proxy (MRS Proxy) facilitates cross-forest mailbox moves and remote move migrations between your on-premises Exchange organization and Exchange Online.

In Exchange 2013, MRS Proxy is included in the Mailbox server role (also called the Mailbox server). During cross-forest and remote move migrations, a Client Access server acts as a proxy for incoming move requests for the Mailbox server. The ability of a Client Access server to accept these requests is disabled by default. To allow the Client Access server to accept incoming move requests, you have to enable the MRS Proxy endpoint. In Exchange 2010, it resides on all Client Access servers.

For more information about the MRS Proxy in Exchange 2013, please refer to:
