move contents of PST to OST in bulk - possible?
Hi All, I have a quick question around migrating PST data to an OST file locally on each users' machine via a script or 3rd-party tool and wondered if anyone could confirm if this is possible? We have thousands of remote users on slow links and dont want to have to migrate the PST data to the exchange server over the links and then move the data back over the links to the users' OST file. Therefore, we need to try to migrate the data locally from their PST to OST and then the data will sync back to the exchange server and only have to cross the links once.

I think that we don't convert it to an ost file directly, and ost is only a cache on client, you can simply let end user to drag and drop your pst file items from a pst file to mailbox folders, then it would be synced to the server side. Or if you have a pst that is what you want to import to mailbox user's mailbox, you can do it from server side via Exchange management shell (depends on Exchange version) , you might be wanting to have a look at this http://www.simple-talk.com/sysadmin/exchange/importing-psts-into-exchange-2010,-the-easy-way/ or this http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2011/05/09/how-to-import-and-export-mailboxes-using-pst-files-in-sbs-2011-standard.aspx
