missing messages from outlook 2010 show up on server 2007 - how to get them back?
We're running into an issue where a user has 2 desktop pc's, a laptop, and an android phone accessing outlook 2010 messages on an exchange 2007 sp3 server. For some reason, his inbox keeps becoming devoid of messages, and the emptiness gets synced with all devices. sometimes we can login to the web to see all messages, but this is no longer working. When I perform a search in the Exchange recovery console it sees the messages, but there's no obvious way to export them to a PST as I could have done with ExMerge on an unattached edb file.

You're saying the messages disappear from his inbox? Two things I can suggest may be causing that. One is that he has a POP client connecting to his mailbox downloading and deleting the messages. The other is that he has an Outlook client configured with the primary mail delivery location being to personal folders, which causes all the messages to be removed from the mailbox Inbox and delivered to a PST Inbox.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Are any of those using POP3 or IMPA4 and deleting/purging the message that have been read? --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

If there is POP3 account, it’s normal that the message keeps missing from Inbox folder. You can select the Leave a copy of messages on the server check box to avoid the situation. For more information, please refer to the link below: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/leave-e-mail-messages-on-your-e-mail-server-HA001150793.aspx If there is no POP3 account, please check whether the message is saved to any PST file automatically as Ed mentioned.
