migrate public folders from e2k3 to e2k7
i need to migrate our PF to our new system and this is what I have done so far - can you please indicate any additional steps required!? 1. I've added replicas for all non-system public folders and those now have two replicas listed both fore2k3 and e2k7. 2. I've added replicas for some systempublic folders: OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK the following have two replicas listed both fore2k3 and e2k7 System Folders\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK\/o=HMM Exchange/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=HMM LIST Properties updated successfully. System Folders\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK\/o=HMM Exchange/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=HMM LIST\OAB Version 4 Properties updated successfully. System Folders\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK\/o=HMM Exchange/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=HMM LIST\OAB Version 3a Properties updated successfully. System Folders\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK\/o=HMM Exchange/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=HMM LIST\OAB Version 2 Properties updated successfully. this one has e2k7 only, but should it be present on both? System Folders\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK\EX:/o=HMM Exchange/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) this one has e2k3 only, but should it be present on both?System Folders\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK\EX:/o=HMM Exchange/ou=First Administrative Group SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY - has no replicas itself, but it childs: System Folders\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY\EX:/o=HMM Exchange/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) Properties updated successfully - now has replicas in both e2k3 and e2k7 similarly System Folders\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY\EX:/o=HMM Exchange/ou=First Administrative Group Properties updated successfully - now has replicas in both e2k3 and e2k7 schema-root - I haven't touched this so it contains e2k3 only SYSTEM CONFIGURATION- I haven't touched this so it contains e2k3 only should the last two be replicated over to e2k7 as well and have I missed anything else? I always use this KB as a guideline for what system folders to add the 2007 or any PF as a replica.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931 Rehome the Offline Address Book folder Rehome the Schedule+ Free Busy folder Rehome the Organization Forms folderSr. Exchange Engineer - Constellation Energy

The additional step is to confirm all public folder info has been moved to exchange 2007 without any data loss. And the only way to confirm that is to use ESM to check the instances in each to-be-decommissioned server, compare with the replicas on the exchange 2007 server For more detailed procedure, please see the How can I tell if public folder data has replicated to Exchange 2007? section in Administration of Public Folders with the introduction of Exchange 2007 Resources: How to Move Public Folder Content from one Public Folder Database to Another Public Folder Database How to remove last legacy exchange server from exchange 2007 organization
