migrate exchange 2007 to 2013

Hi all

how do i migrate exchange 2007 to 2013, below is the case

we have 2 DC with same domain name ABC.COM, DC1 name "master" running window server 2008 enterprise sp2 64 bits, DC2 name "dataserver" running window server 2008R2 Enterprise sp2 , DC1 has exchange 2007 running, and i want to deploy DC2 with exchange 2013, how do i migrate mail box from exchange 2007 in DC1 to exchange 2013 in DC2, is it just simply install exchange 2013 on DC2 and replicate the exchange setting from exchange 2003 , because later the DC1 will be dump, and all the FSMO roles already transfered to the DC2, Thx

Hi
1.MS will release a Roll up for Exchange 2007 and SP3 for Exchange 2010 to coexist with Exchange 2013.
   2.install exchange 2013
   3. move mailbox from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013.
You can read this similar case.

Hi

any document show how to do the below migration steps ? since i have never done migration in exchange in the past, Thx

Create a legacy.domain.com DNS record and point to your reverse proxy/Exchange 2007 CAS server
- Install Exchange 2013 MB and CAS roles in the internet-facing site
- Install certificates to 2013 and add a legacy.domain.com certificate on the reverse proxy/Exchange 2007 CAS server
- Next move the CAS namespace to Exchange 2013 so all clients connect to the Exchange 2013 CAS server
- The 2013 CAS server will proxy connections for mailboxes still on 2007 or will redirect to legacy.domain.com if it's  OWA
- Next move the mailboxes to 2013
- Repeat for non internet-facing sites

Hi,
From what you write, it seems that you are more interested in Transition to Exchange 2013 then to Migrate.

There is not much documentation out there yet for Coexistence, but I think we can expect it to be when Coexistence is supported.

In the mean time... I recommend that you watch Scott Schnolls session from TechNet that covers this.

Actually coexistence one purpose is use for migrate mailbox from one exchange server to another ? My main purpose is to move mailbox from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 , and after moved all mailbox from exchange 2007 the exchange 2007 server will be dump, in order to achieve that, I have to do all the steps above ?  Do you know if the new Update Rollup 9 for Exchange Server 2007 SP3 has the supported coexistence with Exchange 2013 built in ?

A well-organized & straightforward technique for moving 2007 mailboxes into 2013 server is mailbox export-import process via PSTs. What you can do:
  1. Export 2007 Mailboxes to PST using Export-Mailbox Cmdlet
  2. Import data from Exported PSTs using New-MailboxImportRequest Cmdlet

(The process is applicably only on live server, properly functioning & configured internal services.)

However, in case where exchange 2007 is uninstalled or unavailable (due to any reason) then you can put-in-use any high quality solution to move exchange 2007 mailbox to exchange 2013 by exporting 2007 mailboxes from offline database to pst files (you can also include/exclude selected mailboxes).
