messages with an unreachable destination
I have a connector set with a Smart host . Now, I have messages stuck in the "Messages with an unreachable destination' queue, but I'm unable to force connection to re-send these messages. I already tried to restart the SMTP service but no luck. I have deleted the Outbound connector create a new one, Shut down both Server one node after another one, And restart them one by one. still no luck . I can not restart Default MSTP Virual Server, because our Exchange is in cluster We are running exchange 2003 server in Cluster mode, with Smart host configured on outbound connector. We are in Afrca, Congo Brazzaville and it is very difficult to get support. Please I will appreciate if some one can Help me. Kind Regards

What's in the"Address Space" tab? wWht did you put into the "Forward all mail . ..." edit box for the smart host? Does the local bridgehead server havepermission to connecto on port 25 to addresses outside yourorganization? An "unreachable destination" is pretty general. It can mean, forexample, that the IP address returned from a MX record lookup is0.0.0.0! It may mean that there's a DNS problem. It could be afirewall problem. It could be that there's no connector with anaddress space that matches the target domain.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP--- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
