memory use on primary node growing without bound
Running Exchange Clustered Mailbox Server in a 2 node CCR environment. Both nodes are running Windows Server 2008 Enterprise, 64-bit. Currently there are only 6 mailboxes on the CMS. The following happens:
- After a couple of hours of up time, memory use on the primary node is at 8GB. Memory use on the secondary node is at 2GB.
- Change ownership of application to secondary node. Memory use on primary node goes down to 2GB. Memory use on secondary node goes up to ~2.5GB. Cluster is still functioning, client access still works.
- Change ownership of application back to primary node. Memory use on primary node goes up to ~2.5GB, memory use on secondary node goes back down to 2GB. Cluster is still functioning, client access still works.
- After about 2 hours memory use on primary node starts growing without bound again and I have to go through the above process again.
Is this normal? I have not tried leaving the ownership of the application on the secondary node for any significant period of time.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
