mailbox rights
on my ex server 2003i have created 2 users with the name u1 & u2. i want to assign mailbox rights, to user u2 that he can only read the mailbox of u1. when i have assigned read only permission for user u2 , in user u1 properties using exchange advanced mailbox rights u2 is not able to access the mailbox of u1. but when have assigned full mailbox he is able to open. my problem is in exchange advanced mailboxrights only one permission is working that is full mailbox access. why other permissions are not working such as read only. if u r providing the solution its really very helpful for me

Note that the Exchange Advanced Permissions area says "Read Permissions", not just "Read". From your question, it appears that you want to give a user view only access to another user's mailbox. To accomplish this, you will need to use assign this permission from within Outlook: 1. While in u1's mailbox profile in Outlook, click Tools | Options and then click the Delegates tab. 2. Click Add and then add user u2. 3. In the Delegate Permissions area, look for the Inbox row and change it to Reviewer. You can set Calendar and Tasks to None if u2 doesnt need access. This should accomplish what you are looking for.

Hi all, Please understand that the Read permission in Mailbox Right means allows the users with this permission the ability to view the permissions for this mailbox. However, the reviewer permission is a MAPI permission encapsulated for Exchange/outlook in which it allow user the ability to read items and files only Regarding more detailed information about Mailbox Right http://www.comptechdoc.org/os/windows/mailboxrights/mailaccess.html Regards, Jason
