logging to outlook
When my users login to outlook I like for them to only enter their name not domain\username then the password. I can make that happen when they login to the owa. But how can I do the same when they access outlook. We are on Exchange 2007.... Outlook 2007 tony

Hi, is you environment is single forest or multiple(domain)? And have you configuring auto discovery on exchange or not? Ripu Daman Mina

Single Forest. We did have auto discovery on but for our remote users they were having all kinds of problems (since they travel a lot) but that is different story.. So we turned it of. However, even then when we had the auto discovery on we had to login the same way. domain\username password.

You may use UPN for outlook login as well, but not “User name” type. Per my knowledge, it’s for OWAJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

Per my further research, it’s not possible for outlook to logon with user name only. You can use the first two formats, the domain name has to be provided for authentication procedure to work James Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
