Right now my organization sends out email alerts to about 5,000 people using an SMTP server. Our entire operation is on Exchange. I'm of the opinion that it would be much better to just keep this all in exchnage. How much of a performance boost would you see ifyou created a distribution listand just sentemails through there? Mail would then stay entirely inside the Exchange servers. There are a bunch of headaches on the backend from this (managing users, etc.) but if there would be alarge performance boost I think it would be worth it. Right now the alerts take about 10 minutes to go out. Other question, from the management end:is there a listservprogram that integrates into Exchange well?
