linked mailbox problem?
Hi all, Exchange 2007 SP2 due to migration to domain B , we converted several users' mailbox in domain A to linked mailboxes. Now, The converted linked mailbox can not send on behalf of some body in domain A anymore? How should I fix this? Thank you.

Hi, Mailboxes which are linked have an Active Directory Attribute called “msExchRecipientTypeDetails” which is set to '2' (Decimal) for Linked whereas a normal mailbox the attribute is set to “1″ So using ADIS edit change the “msExchRecipientTypeDetails” value to 2Regards from www.windowsadmin.info

"Send As" isn't a mailbox permission. It's a permission granted on one user account to another user account. The account used to access the linked mailbox is the one that needs the permission. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

In Exchange 2003, we can assign a user "Send on behalf". So, In Exchange 2007, the send as is the same as "send on behalf"? If I assign the "send as", the user has "send as" right and will show as on behalf of other user when the user send email out? Thank you.

"Send As" and "Send on behalf" are two different permissions. >If I assign the "send as", the user has "send as" right and will show as on behalf of other user when the user send email >out? No. The message will appear to have come from the address the user put into the "From:" header -- there will be no "on behalf of ..." in the message as displayed to the recipient. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
