larger incoming message size
Hi, I have a problem that I'm stumped at. I need to allow larger message sizes to come from the outside into my organization. I've changed the sending and receiving message size limits to 22600KB in global settings, and the SMTP message size limit to 22600KB as well. I've also tried the same size in the 'limit session size to' option. I've changed the msExchRecipLimit to 22600 in ADSIedit too. My messages still get bounced back if the attachment is over 10MB. We use Google Postini services and the max size we allow through that is 15MB. So if anyone can help, what else can I change to make a message come through above 10MB? Thanks

If you are using Exchange 2010, in the organization configuration on the hub transport. You can configure under global settings the transport settings: Maximum receive size Under your receive connector, for each connector you can set the maximum message size. Ron

I have been checking to see if you needed to restart IS any service after running Set-TransportConfig for changes to kick in (-: and I think there is no need for it...... If you can and have no patients re-start IS. First of all check the excellent post by Baharat below as reference Setting Message Size Limits in Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2007 http://exchangepedia.com/2007/09/exchange-server-2007-setting-message-size-limits.html Secondly see, below you might have to wait a bit to see the changes (-: Mailbox Size Limits Are Not Enforced in a Reasonable Period of Time After you configure the mailbox size restriction for a mailbox, that mailbox user can continue to send and receive messages that cause the mailbox to exceed the configured mailbox size. The configured limits are enforced after a period of time, but do not take effect immediately. Restarting the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service causes the configured limits to take effect immediately http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb684892(EXCHG.80).aspx Good luck ocd
