Hi,
I'm not sure about what it means by "reconfigure Outlook 2010"; if you want to reconfigure the account in Outlook and don't want to lose the data in the previous account, please backup the .pst files of the previous account.
The .pst files are usually stored in:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
or
C:\Users\v-yadche\Documents\Outlook Files
You can find the location from File -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> Data Files as well.
Your emails and other data should all be stored in the .pst files, after reconfiguring the account in Outlook, you can easily import or open the .pst files in Outlook.
If your old account uses .ost file insteadf of .pst files, all the data should all be stored in the server as well, you don't need to backup the .ost files.

Step 1: Backup your PST (which stores emails, calendar and other outlook items).
How to take backup of PST See this link: https://support.office.com/en-ca/article/Export-Outlook-items-to-an-Outlook-Data-File-pst-14252b52-3075-4e9b-be4e-ff9ef1068f91
Step 2: Now You can create a new account or reconfigure [whatever you want].
Step 3: import PST file in new account. See this link: https://support.office.com/en-ca/article/Import-Outlook-items-from-an-Outlook-Data-File-pst-431a8e9a-f99f-4d5f-ae48-ded54b3440ac
As Melon Chen said in case you outlook is configured with Exchange Server then the data is saved in OST format and need not to backup.
