keep text alignment in the header intact in word 2010

Hi,

I was having this strange problem with text alignment in the header in Word 2010. In the body of a template, I set all alignment to "justify" while in the header (which is made up of a table with one row and two columns), the left column is set with paragraph alignment to the "left", and the right columns set to the "right". Then, I created an autotext out of this template.

In a new word document, I have a button that will call this autotext.

When I call this autotext, it dumps all the template into the new word document (which works as expected), but what surprises me is that in the left column in the header, the alignment got changed from "left" to "justify" which is what I set for the body of the document. This is not what I want. It seems that the alignment I set before for the left column of the header got overridden by the body of the document.

I was wondering if there is any way to make sure nothing gets changed in the header as far as the alignment is concerned.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi,

Based on my understanding, you select header section to create an Auto Text. Then recall it in new document.

the left column's alignment changed to "justify".

Follow this understanding, I reproduce this series of actions:

insert a table made up of one row and two columns in header -> set left column as left alignment, set right column as right alignment -> select this table to create an Auto Text -> open a new blank document -> in the header space, call this Auto Text

Then I get the same result AS yours. However, Word 2013 has no this problem.

I recommend you download and install Office 2010 SP2 from the below link:

If the problem still exists after you install SP2, please consider updating to Office 2013.
