issue with local deilvery - Exchange 2000 (SBS)
hi All! I have been asked to look at an old server that is not receiving emails. Some background info : The server is connecting to internet via ADSL without a fix IP address We're receiving multiple domain's email using the Pop3 Connector All emails are routed trough via the SMTP connector (smart host option)What I realised that the server is receiving the emails via the POP3 connector successfully and it then puts it to the SMTP connector. The SMTP doesn't realise that the emails are for local users so it then passes back to SMART host and the cycle starts again. In the directory though all the users have the proper email addresses for public addresses as well as local domain.Funny thing is that , if i send an email to myself from outlook it doesnt reach me but again that also goes via SMTP. Q: How does the Exchange 2000 realise if the address should be delivered locally or transferred via the SMTP connector ? Many thanks in advance ! regards,Gabor

Sounds like you might have a recipient policy missing for the domain (s) in question. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319201
