is possile to have a mailbox (not a DG) configured NOT to send DELIVERY reports?
Hi, using E2k7 single server (third party appliance in DMZ).relative to intra-org mails too.i know it's possible to configure clients to don't send read receipts, but that's not what i mean.i know it's possible to configure Distribution Groups to don't send delivery receipts (advanced tab of DG properties), but i want to know if it's possible to do the same with a single mailbox. (maybe a powershell script...)Thanks in advance.Diego Castelli

Hi there,Have you looked at a Transport Rule? You can drop messages based on specific text in the message header. You may want to look at:Content-Type: multipart/report; report-type=delivery-status;You can also stop delivery reports altogether, open the EMC | Organizational Configuration | Hub Transport | Remote Domains | properties on Default * |OliverOliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCTS:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2007.com | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com |

Thank you Oliver, i did try to silently drop messages based on the headers content, but you have to consider that delivery reports comes from:MicrosoftExchange329e71ec88ae4615bbc36ab6ce41109e@<yourdomain> (for example)and thus i cannot filter messages relative to the single mailbox i want to exclude....I don't want to block reports at org level, just want the single mailbox. Thanks anyway 4 your response.Diego Castelli

I dont think there is really a good way to do this for a single mailbox.

OK, thanks anyway 4 your help.I managed to solve it creating a DG with the destination mailbox as a single member and then modified all fw rules related to it to point to the DG instead of the mailbox. Now i'm facing another problem:i configured the DG to not send any report, but if i choose to require a delivery report sending a message to another mbox that has a forwarding option toward the DG.it returns me a report: expanded: <msg subject>the message has been sent to the following distribution group:<name of the DG>how can i get rid of this?ThanksDiego Castelli

Try to use this utilty:http://ivasoft.com/rrr2007.shtmlIt will remove both read receipt requests and delivery report requests though.Regards,Victor Ivanidze
