installing exchange server 2007 error regarding exchange2003
heres my scenario , i have 1 exchange 2007 server already running , i have dc and several file servers , the hardware on exhcange 2007 has been failing so i want to move it to a new server ,so i formatted a server that was on our network called eisystemssvr , i installed server 2008 64 bit and called it eisvr1 , when installing exchange 2007 on this server i get a warning that exchange 2003 is on a server that doesnt have service pack 2 installed , the problem is i dont have a exchange 2003 server or so i thought , the server i formatted(eisystemssvr) had previously had exchange 2003 but had been disabled from before it was first joined to my domain even though it was never used as exchange server in my domain my dc must have records of it , i have taken away its computer account and deleted all dns records of it but still i get the same error , i noticed if i go to my current exchange 2007 server and run toolbox-best practices analyser , it connects to your active directory and brings back the servers in you exchange org and low and behold the eisystemssvr appears as well as the real echange 2007 server , so my dc must have records of eisystemssvr somewhere and i need to remove them , help please!

Right-click the Exchange 2003 server object, and then click Delete. Click Yes in every adsiedit dialog box that prompts you to confirm the deletion. MVP Exchange Server
