if i want to install Mail box server role only is ok to use this code below which is for
This example is for a server that will host the Client Access and Mailbox server roles.
Add-WindowsFeature NET-Framework,RSAT-ADDS,Web-Server,Web-Basic-Auth,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-Metabase,Web-Net-Ext,Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console,WAS-Process-Model,RSAT-Web-Server,Web-ISAPI-Ext,Web-Digest-Auth,Web-Dyn-Compression,NET-HTTP-Activation,RPC-Over-HTTP-Proxy -Restart

This seems to be prereq for CAS.
Here is the prereq for Exchange 2010:

is for Mailbox and Client Access both, use below just for Mailbox please

Remember these are just prereq and there wouldn't be any issues as such if you would have used the one you had
suggested..

Did you by any chance peek in the scripts folder of your installation media? Try:
cd \scripts
ServerManagerCmd -ip Exchange-MBX.xml -Restart
or something like that

Yes very much but if you want to tied down to have just mailbox role then it is nice to install just the mailbox prereq please.Regards, Pushkal MishrA

As John mentioned, this example is for a server that will host only the Hub Transport server role.
ServerManagerCmd -ip Exchange-Hub.xml –Restart
