installing Exchange Server 2007 with a seperate IIS Server?
for a school assignment I and some coworkers/other students, need to setup a complete business network. this should exist of a PDC, IIS server, Exchange 2007 server, DHCP server and a file server. with the exchange server we run into a problem with the setup though. during setup, we get an error that it can not access an IIS 6 Metabase, but it only attempts to find it, on the same server we want to install Exchange. but we have to use a separate IIS server, and even while searching online for a possable solution i only get information about reinstalling IIS on the same machine. I'm hoping that, if anyone knows, they may be here, if we can get it working within a week would be ideal, but is not necessary.

Hi One of the prerequisites of the Exchange 2007 is IIS. The box on which Exchange is to be installed must have IIS Please read this document and see that you have fullfilled the requirements of Exchange. If you want another IIS server, then you always set up an additional IIS server http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996719(EXCHG.80).aspxRegards Herbert Zimbizi

so, basically, even with a separate IIS server, we need to have it on the Exchange server as well? so it would be imposable to install if we don't install IIS on the same machine as well?
