installed a fresh XP on my x86machine, for some reason installation doesnt install the network adapter~!
well I've done this quite a few times before (reinstalling windows XP) on my computer and never had a problem. However I installed last night and went through the whole setup procedure and when it was finished, i tried to pop up the internet explorer to download some drivers, and got nothing, didnt talk long to realize that I didnt even have the little computer icon telling me the status of my internet connection in notification area on the bottom right. As well I realized when I did the installation, I didnt remember doing any kind of network configuration which I always relied on the configure the network settings right off the bat on a fresh install. which I thought was wierd, but was even more wierd when I check the list in my device manager there is no network adapter installed on the machine! So thinking maybe something faulted during installation and didnt copy or something, I reinstalled.... And again the same thing, So I broke apart my SATA RAID and unhooked my master drive and moved my slave drive into its spot on the mother board, and formated it and tried installing windows on this disc, which has never had any system componants on it, thinking maybe it was a problem with my drive, however again... The same thing! any Ideas why this is happening? or any advice on the matter? Would be hugely appreciated. Thank you kindly for your time.

Well looks like it doesn't recognize your drivers for your network adapter. So i would first check to see if it is enabled go windows key on left side of keyboard+pause break choose hardware tab and device manager button. right click on your network adapter to either enable it or update the driver. Maybe updating it will fix it. If not you have to download your drivers from another computer that has internet and usb transfer them. Or if you have your mobo cd use the drivers off of that cd hope this helps
