incompatible versions office products

Suddenly my office products were telling me they couldn't complete an action because of incompatibility with office components on my system (both the action and the incompatible components not specified).
(I use the 64 bit version of all office products)

Based on some browsing around I tried to remove my One Drive for Business software, but it removed my office too!

Next I tried to re-install office, by downloading the version mentioned in "my account", but I was not allowed to install, because it was a click to run version and I had Windows installation products on my computer (but looking back at the version I downloaded: it didn't mention it was a click to run version and I couldn't download a different version).

Based on an earlier downloaded version I now have office working again (next step is One Drive for Business), but I would like to share my experience, just hoping that Microsoft will use these kinds of stories to improve the (error-)information by and (website) information about the products.
