how to turn off editing applied across sheets in excel 2010

I have an excel file with multiple sheets (copied from another file created by someone else). every time I add or remove something in one sheet, it automatically did the same in anothe sheet.  e.g. if I removed row 6 in sheet 1, the row 6 is removed from sheet 2 as well.

Where can I remove that function?

Thanks for any tips!

re:  "did the same in anothe sheet."

One possibility is that you have multiple sheets selected.
If that is the case, then right-click a sheet tab and choose "Ungroup Sheets"

It was not the case as described in first reply.  I copied the cells to a fresh new file, everything is fine.  still don't know why it worked that way in original file.

Hi,

I'm glad to hear that you found a workaround now. I suppose this issue might be caused by the original file itself, if you want to know the root cause, you might share us a sample file. We'll try our best to test it.

Regards,

Thanks
