how to turn off allowing attachments for mail enabled universal distribution group (i.e. "All company employees")
I have a mail enabled UDG "all company employees" and people continue to send attachments of 5-10mb in size and it just kills me. How do I just turn it off so they can't attach crap like that.

Version of Exchange? If 2003 you can't. If 2007 or higher you might be able to using Transport rules, but I haven't tested it. Without version information though it is impossible to answer. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

While you're at it, restrict who has permission to send to the group. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Hi, As Simon said, you can use Transport Rule and by using “when the size of any attachment is greater than or equal to limit” conditions to restrict the mail attachment. get more information about “transport rule” http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995961.aspxPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
