how to manually moving routing group connector from the failed routing master to the second exchange server

dear All

I am having a problem with incoming emails after the below scenario

1. the first  exchange server was installed in the forest, and due to the AD replication problems Exchange server was failing to connect. then this Exchange server was taken out of the domain without disabling the services.

2. After resolving the Replication problem in AD, the first exchange server could not start the services.

3. I have now deployed a second Exchange server in the forest and running fine BUT cannot receive emails with error Authentication rejected by the smtp server.

4. Tried to normally uninstall the first exchange server, but giving error the stop the uninstallation.

5.NOW I want to manually remove this first exchange server and transfer the routing group connector to the second Exchange server.

IF NEED MORE CLARIFICATION ON THE PROBLEM PLEASE let me know

Your usual help is greatly appreciated in advance.

Regards

Michael

Hi Micheal

We require more information on this to proceed further

1) What version of Exchange Server you are running ?

2) Have you moved all the existing users from the old server to the new server?

If not Make sure you export all mailboxes to PST using export-pst if the environment is small to ensure there is no data loss etc

For Uninstallation

First you can try running the below command which will remove the Exchange server that you are trying to uninstall

.\Setup.exe /mode:Uninstall /IacceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

Manual Uninstallation - ( Basically not recommended be careful while playing with ADSI EDIT)

on adsiedit there will be Exchange object, you will need to delete this object manually from below location

Navigate to the below location

CN=Configuration,DC=DOMAIN,DC=LOCAL CN=Services CN=Microsoft Exchange CN=Administrative Groups CN=Servers using ADSIEDIT

Look for the corrupted server and delete that corrupted server object alone

and then disable the associated computer account as well.

Note: Be careful while doing above and if you are not sure of the above steps please raise a ticket with Microsoft
